Goodstone Living appoints Construction Director and General Counsel

Goodstone Living, the specialist real estate investment manager established by Macquarie Asset Management to pursue opportunities in the UK’s build-to-rent sector, is pleased to announce the appointment of two senior leadersip hires – Construction Director and General Counsel.

Lee Hawkins has been appointed as Construction Director to lead all construction activities for Goodstone Living’s development pipeline. With over 25 years of experience, Lee has formerly held senior roles at Greystar Real Estate Partners, Westfield Group, Mace Group and Sir Robert McAlpine.

Lizzie Pennant has been appointed as General Counsel to be responsible for delivering strategic legal advice and risk management at Goodstone Living. Lizzie joins Goodstone Living from Greystar Real Estate Partners, most recently as a senior legal director, where she played a key role in expanding the business into Europe. Lizzie has previously held legal roles at Jones Day and Goldman Sachs (secondment).

Martin Bellinger, Principal at Goodstone Living, said: “ We are delighted to welcome both Lizzie and Lee to Goodstone Living’s senior leadership team. These high quality industry leaders are joining us at a pivotal point in the evolution of our business and we look forward to working together to build the leading investment manager in the UK’s build-to-rent residential sector.”

Lee Hawkins, Construction Director at Goodstone Living, said: “Goodstone Living has already made a big impact despite being around for less than a year, which arguably comes as little surprise given the reputation, experience and expertise encompassed by Macquarie and the business’ senior leadership team. I am excited to be joining Goodstone Living to build out its construction delivery function and look forward to starting with the two high profile site acquisitions in Birmingham and Edinburgh.”
